Lovers doomed to misery. Eduard Shale was an eccentric millionaire working for the Yakuza, intending to use his next business venture as a front for dealing drugs. After spending time with Reporter Carol Sanders, to secure publicity for his business, he began to develop feelings for her - and she for him. However, with the influx of dangerous drugs into the city, she put her name forward to the Los Santos Police Department, and was immediately recruited. Swiftly, she rose to second in command of the PD and thus put their relationship in a compromising position. After severely crippling the Yakuza's drug operation, the Yakuza pulled Eddy in for one last job - a job that he couldn't do, and thus had to sacrifice himself to save Carol.
